At Noremarsh we are really lucky to have access to some extensive grounds including a large playing field, forest area and orchard and large two playgrounds. We aim to make the most of this for all our children in all weathers.
Using the outdoor environment, children are encouraged and inspired to grow in confidence, independence and self-esteem through the mastery of small achievable tasks.
Forest school is a fully integrated part of our curriculum and is accessible to all year groups throughout the year. It’s not just about building dens but finding out about ecology, construction from natural materials, using equipment safely, using knives correctly and enjoying a stimulating environment. It is led by fully trained forest school leaders.
We also use specific Forest School interventions with smaller groups of children to help with self-confidence, resilience and problem solving.
