Noremarsh Junior School follows the guidelines set out in the National Curriculum.
Our aim is to develop creative and imaginative learners full of curiosity, who are excited and challenged by all aspects of our curriculum.
Our existing curriculum structure has been in place for some years.
It covers all areas of the National Curriculum, making links between subjects where appropriate. Over the course of the next year, we are redeveloping our curriculum to reflect our community and location, rich in geographical and historical interest. We want to ensure our curriculum allows our children to develop a deep understanding of all the topics being studied.
We have appointed Miss Fletcher as “Curriculum Lead” in addition to her subject leader and teacher responsibilities who will help us to gather views from across our community to shape our vision for Noremarsh. This will underpin our new curriculum.
We want the Noremarsh curriculum to be relevant and engaging for all our children. We are looking at all aspects of how learning is organised at Noremarsh. Our team of passionate and enthusiastic subject leaders are working together to ensure our curriculum provides our children with enriching and exciting experiences to ensure that all children can achieve success along their educational journey.
We believe in the importance of trips, visitors and outdoor learning in our curriculum to enhance and extend the children’s learning. We want to map these into our curriculum in advance so that we can make the most of these opportunities. It is important to us that parents and carers know what our children will be learning throughout the year and when we have trips and visits planned. We aim to develop whole school themes so that the children build on their skills and knowledge every year and teachers can plan for creative, engaging and meaningful learning experiences. This clear sequence of learning throughout the school will build on the curriculum taught at Wootton Bassett Infants and will prepare children for their transition to secondary education.
If you have any questions or feedback about our curriculum, please contact Mrs MacMeekin or Miss Fletcher.
