Admissions
Our Planned Admissions number (PAN) is 60. Children are admitted to Noremarsh when they are seven, to begin Key Stage Two of the National Curriculum. Wootton Bassett Infants is the feeder school for Noremarsh Junior School.
Although there are enough spaces at Noremarsh for all children of year 2, you must apply online for a place in the autumn term of year 2 to be assured of a place. To help make the transfer as smooth as possible, an induction programme takes place during the summer term before entry. This includes the year 2 children visiting us. Teachers from Wootton Bassett Infants and Noremarsh meet throughout the year. Liaison between the two schools is good.
We are able to take children who want to enter Noremarsh in other year groups, but this is only possible when there is a place available. You are welcome to make an appointment to come and view the school.
Children transfer, generally to Royal Wootton Bassett Academy, the September after their 11th birthday. Online applications have to be returned by the date set by the LA to secure a place at Royal Wootton Bassett Academy, generally the autumn term in year 6. There is no automatic transfer.
If you would like to apply for a place at Noremarsh Junior School, all applications must be made online through Wiltshire Council.

Transitions
As a junior school we know that we are a step on our children’s journey.
It is crucial that we have strong working relationships with both Wootton Bassett Infants and Royal Wotton Bassett Academy (RWBA). By being part of the same Academy Trust as RWBA we are able to ensure consistency and progression in teaching and ensure that the Trust values that we all hold dear are embedded before the children progress onto secondary school.
We are also working with the Wootton Bassett Infants School to make sure that our curriculum builds on the foundations that their curriculum lays. We are reviewing our approaches to reading, phonics and basic skills in maths so that they are aligned.
Children will know what to expect when they start with us in year 3. There are lots of opportunities for the year 2s to visit and join in with our events throughout the year including the Fun Run in term 1 and sports day in term 6.
We have a dedicated transition day when the children meet their new teachers and teaching assistants in their new classrooms. Mrs MacMeekin (Headteacher) visits the children at Wootton Bassett Infants to share stories and answer their questions. We also have opportunities for parents to come and meet us and the team including our ‘meet the teachers’ sessions each year in September. This allows all classes to meet their new class teachers, hear key information and ask any questions.
All of these opportunities mean that our year 3s are familiar with our school and our team and arrive ready to fly.
