Futures festival is Noremarsh’s answer to a careers fayre. Each year we have a week-long festival in term five focussing on skills that children need to move towards the future aims and goals they have set for themselves.
We focus on the following skills:
During the week we think about how we learn about and use the skills above now and how we can develop them for the future alongside thinking about why they are important skills to have no matter what you want to achieve in life.
We are lucky to have extensive ground including a large field, forest area and two playgrounds. At this year’s festival we had emergency vehicles on the playground, demonstrations on the field and animals in school!

Here are some comments from the volunteers that came to talk to the children:
I just wanted to say that ‘Futures Festival’ has been really great.
I thought the neonatologist was so professional, informative and answered tricky questions sensitively without shying away from honesty.
The kids had so much fun with the personal trainer today too and I saw lots of kids practicing their new career and training their friends at break time.
A lovely day. Thanks for organising!
It was delightful talking to the children. I was quite astonished at some of their questions and I wasn't expecting so many questions either!
It has been brilliant - what a great way to celebrate our children, their families and the school as a whole.
I've thoroughly enjoyed what I have seen and looking forward to the author visit.
I just wanted to say a mahooosive well done for organising the whole thing, that is no small undertaking! Thank you 🙂
Thank you all so much for the opportunity, and to the children and teachers they were all amazing.
I had so many questions, to Cherhill class wow wow wow 🤩
They showed such interest and knew what to do if a client had a faint or choking incident.
I enjoyed it so much!
As ever it was my pleasure- the children were all a delight to work with- polite, and enthusiastic- please send the year 3s my thanks.
It was the best part of my day 😊 and the children were so good!
I’m delighted to hear the rest of the day went well and I am sure the week will remain on a positive high!
I’m glad to hear everyone enjoyed it, was hoping I pitched it right.
