This reading assessment tool is designed to provide information about your child’s reading level, progress, and areas for improvement.
It’s an online tool that measures your child’s reading comprehension skills and helps us identify your childs reading age. This allows us to personalise your child’s reading experience by matching them to appropriate reading materials tailored to their abilities. We revisit the assessment regularly throughout the academic year to track your childs progress and make informed decisions about their learning journey.
The Star Reading Assessment provides us with a Zone of Proximal Development rage (ZPD) which is then correlated to a book band colour. Your child will then bring home one colour banded book matched to their ZPD and one reading for pleasure book, which they can choose freely.
