We send out a parents survey at least once a year.
Parents’ suggestions are always gratefully received and are considered as we set our school development priorities. The result of our latest parents survey are below, thank you very much to parents and carers for completing the questionnaire and for all your comments and responses.
It is always lovely to hear positive feedback (the results of the survey were overwhelmingly positive) but we have looked at all of the comments so that we can work together with you to make our school an even better place to be.
Here is an overall summary:
We have worked hard over the past year to continue to improve our school. You told us last year that getting updates on your child’s progress is important and you would like more.
We now have at least one opportunity per term for parents to come in and see their child’s teacher, with a parents evening in the Autumn and Summer term and open evening in spring term. In addition, we make sure that we have lots of other opportunities for parents to come in including art galleries, celebration events, assemblies etc and at different times of the day as we know that coming into school during working hours can be tricky.
We also send assessment letters 3x per year for years 3-5 and a reports for everyone in the Spring term.
If you ever have a specific query or want to ask how your child is getting on you can email their class teacher or catch them at the end of the day.
We have also looked at not only having ambition and stretch in our curriculum (particularly in English and Maths) but also supporting children’s wellbeing. Let us know if there are other things that we can do to support your child’s wider personal development as this is an area we would like more feedback on.
Our parents with SEN children have said that they are supported but overall this figure was down on last year and again we would value some insight as to how we can help more – just let us know. We will continue to work with the parents of SEN children to understand how we can continue to support SEN children within our setting.
Finally, out of schools clubs continue to go from strength to strength but we are always looking for new clubs to add to our program – watch this space!
